Locally grown
We buy from small growers across the Western Cape, which means hardier plants, a smaller footprint, and money that stays in the province.
About us
A small studio with one simple belief: everyone deserves a plant that won't die while they're away.
Our story
Cape Town Succulent Studio started in 2018 as a weekend market stall at the Old Biscuit Mill, selling a few terracotta pots out of the back of a borrowed bakkie. The idea was simple then and it's simple now: pair people with plants that fit their lives.
Our founder, Annelie van der Berg, spent years studying indigenous flora before turning her love of plants into a business. Every succulent in the studio is hand-selected for resilience, character, and that little something extra that makes you stop and look twice.
How we work
We buy from small growers across the Western Cape, which means hardier plants, a smaller footprint, and money that stays in the province.
Every plant leaves the studio potted in a gritty, free-draining mix we blend ourselves — the single biggest secret to succulents that survive real homes.
Tell us about your space and we'll tell you the truth about what will thrive there — even if that means recommending a plant we don't sell.
Visit us
The studio sits on Kloof Street at the foot of Table Mountain, ten minutes from the city centre. Pop in to browse the benches, ask a hundred care questions, or just breathe in that green, earthy smell we can never quite get enough of.
Can't make it in person? We deliver across the Cape Peninsula every week, and gift orders ship nationwide with a care card tucked inside.
