Questions we hear a lot
How far in advance should I book?
Summer departures fill two to three weeks ahead; winter aurora hunts are quieter but weather-dependent. Book when you know your dates. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before, so you're never locked in.
What should I wear on a day tour?
Iceland's rule of thumb: layers. Bring a waterproof shell, a warm mid-layer, hat and gloves year-round, and sturdy shoes with grip. For glacier hikes we provide crampons, ice axes and helmets.
Do tours run in winter?
Five of our nine routes run all year, with winter routing that favours sheltered stops. Four are seasonal: whale watching and Jökulsárlón run April to October, the highlands 4x4 runs June to September, and the northern lights hunt runs October to March.
What happens if the weather turns?
We check forecasts the evening before. If it's unsafe we re-route, and if we cancel outright you get a full refund or first claim on the next departure, your choice.
