Mara Whitfield
Managing BrokerTwenty-four years in Vancouver residential real estate. FRI designation; found in Kitsilano most weekends, coffee in hand.
Founded in 2002 above a bakery on West 4th, Vancouver Coast Realty has grown carefully — seventeen brokers, one standard: tell people the truth, then work hard enough that the truth wins.
Principal broker Mara Whitfield started the firm after a decade downtown, convinced that Vancouver buyers and sellers deserved plain-language contracts and pricing advice that didn't flatter anyone.
Today we handle character homes in Kitsilano, penthouses on Richards Street, warehouse lofts in Railtown, and family streets on the North Shore — the same six neighbourhoods, year after year, so our comparables are lived-in rather than looked up.
We stay small on purpose. Every client works directly with a licensed broker, never a handoff, never a call centre.
How we practise
We'll tell you when not to sell, when a suite is over-priced, and when the inspection should scare you. Our reputation compounds; commissions don't.
Every offer is reviewed line by line, every disclosure package read before you sign, every pricing study written and defended in plain English.
We don't chase markets we don't live in. Six neighbourhoods, walked daily — that's the whole map, and it's why our advice holds up.
The brokers
Twenty-four years in Vancouver residential real estate. FRI designation; found in Kitsilano most weekends, coffee in hand.
First-time buyers to waterfront rebuilds; negotiation-first, pre-approval-always. Knows every strata depreciation report worth reading.
Runs our pricing studies, staging plans, and the private preview list. The reason our sellers meet more than one qualified buyer.
